Dave Lucas
Hello, I'm Dave Lucas, award-winning broadcast journalist and international blogger.
Once upon a time, there was a WikiPedia entry about me: Dave Lucas (born October 29) is an American broadcast journalist, news anchor and talk show host. Dave is best known for the 1999 series of worldwide internet radio broadcasts surrounding the Jon Benet Ramsey murder case. Dave Lucas was among the first talk-show hosts in the USA to use bits of contemporary hit music selections as "bumpers" and he is credited with bringing Paul Vandenburgh and Dr. Joe Parisi to Capital Region airwaves. Dave Lucas has worked for WROW, WGY and is currently Capital Region Bureau Chief at WAMC Northeast Public Radio (affiliated with NPR, PRI and BBC).
Says Dave: "What the WikiPedia piece doesn't say (and I can't really prove it) is that one day back in the 1980's Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa showed up at a statio I was working at. He was a scheduled guest on Ed Tyll's talk show. Curtis had come early and I was the only person there, so I gave him a quick tour of the facility and suggested that HE should aspire to be a radio talk-show host someday. I'm not sure if he would remember or even paid attention to anything I said, but he is a nationally syndicated talk-show host today!"
